Hi everyone! My name is Connie Szeto and I am the new content producer for the Leave It Better website! I'm currently double majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Environmental Studies at New York University. I'm in love with New York City and have been living in Brooklyn all my life.   

So what will I be doing? As a content producer I will be shooting and editing videos for the website. I am responsible for choosing an overarching theme and then producing a series of videos that fit into this larger topic. I will be involved in all parts of the production process. Video can be powerful and I'm hoping to spread the message of the green movement through this visual medium. Producing content for the website is a combination of my two passions: the environment and journalism. I want to use my technical skills to show people how far the green movement has come since its very beginning. I want to tell stories of regular people living more sustainably. More importantly, I want to convince people that a better world is possible, one step at a time.   

I was first exposed to the environment and its anthropogenic problems in high school. I attended Brooklyn Technical High School where I majored in Environmental Science. From then on, I developed an interest in preserving the environment and how to live sustainably in a world of finite resources. During this time in my life, I left my first mark on the environmental movement. I took to the streets in Chinatown with over a hundred other student volunteers to clean up the sidewalks. Armed with brooms and garbage cans, we marched out to literally sweep the streets. It's little things like this that encourage people to change their view of the environment and to begin to adapt sustainable habits.   

At the end of the day, Earth is our real and only home. We, as permanent residents, have a duty to keep it clean, make repairs, and leave a room or two upstairs for our kids. I hope my videos will inspire people to LEAVE IT BETTER. I am excited to join this team of dedicated people. Let's rock and roll.
